Then it's not really correct, as the VW-logo was with the "Volkswagen"-badge on the left side. Only the first two years, 1983-85, had it. 1985+ Golf II had the VW-logo in the middle of the back panel. |

Ingo, the Model Year '88 changed the Badges (VW in middle)and the position of the mirrors (without the drianglewindows). So this one could be a 83-87 Model. |
