It's a '89. Has '89 to '91 interior door panels and no airbag. So it only can be a '89. The main character turns the engine on and it was the real Ford sound, not a fake generic engine starting sound. Perhaps a LX model with those wheels. |

On the July 4th episode, I was able to see a "Taurus GL" badge on the side door. -- Last edit: 2010-07-07 06:33:40 |

LX's did have those wheels but they also had a cornering lamp. |

It is a GL Jetta. By '89 the lowly L did not have the option for cast aluminum wheels seen above. The corner lamps were standard for the LX but optional on the GL. However in '91 there was an L Plus that could come with both corner lamps and the cast aluminum wheels: Link to "www.ebay.com" 1989 L could not have cast aluminum wheels or corner lamps: Link to "www.ebay.com" 1990 L could not come with cast aluminum wheels or corner lamps: http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Ford/Taurus/Ford_US%20Taurus_1990.pdf Wonder if we have any rare '91 L Plus models floating around? |
