The front is a [P3] indeed. But the rear looks different...

OK, so it's just by the strange paint job that it looked different...

Faked British registration? The movie was filmed in Spain (I think so, due the other comments) and as I know, the Ford P3 -as the other German Ford's too- was never available in Britain.

The plate itself looks authentic, but it can't belong to this car. The F suffix ran from 1 August 1967 to 31 July 1968, but the 17M P3 was discontinued in 1964.

This is a strange car - 1967 UK registration (and possibly UK tax disc in windscreen) on much older Taunus which looks LHD from wiper pattern; I'm inclined to believe the genuine UK registration - someone brings their old Taunus to Britain when they move countries. But it appears in shot with the 1971 Taunus, so either the 1971 Taunus also came to Britain or this one went back to Europe (Spain). And the front is painted to look unTaunus and the back crudely modified with cardboard and sellotape to look very different. A lot of effort with no apparent explanation.

Re "All cars in this movie are LHD" - the Rolls and the 2 Triumphs are either visibly RHD or have UK tax discs, which suggests they are genuine UK cars.

Sometimes with imported cars did they not put newer plates on them when they arrived in the UK?

I've seen plenty of American cars with plates newer than the car so the plate might have been put on at the time of arrival into the UK?

It's possible that a 1960-4 Taunus was imported in 1967/8 by (for instance) a British serviceman returning to the UK after serving in Germany. At that time a new registration would have been issued irrespective of the age of the vehicle; nowadays a so-called age-related number would be issued.
