8ed5 ◊ 2010-04-10 23:05	It's weird when John steals Sully's Porsche after dropping him down, and the car's left side is fine when he leaves, even though Sully just flipped the car on it's left side. When John flips it back on it's wheels, left side is clearly crushed. I wonder if they used another car or was it just filmed before the crushing... -- Last edit: 2010-04-11 13:52:58
Kowalski5599 ◊ 2011-01-28 05:09	I agree with 8ed5, it was the first major blooper ever saw in a movie, my dad pointed it out to me when I was younger. When Arnolds character pushes the vehicle back onto its wheels, drives away from the camera and the drivers side of the car is fine for that one shot.

Ingo ◊ 2011-10-29 21:15	It looks like a repainted wreck. The front makes a distored impression and for a 1968-71 model the yellow colour is wrong. Not to talk about the balck overpainted jewellery - back then it has to be all chrome.

Ingo ◊ 2011-10-29 21:58	Not that much as today, especially not in the USA, but a 911 was never a bargain car. Not to compare with a 924, 944 or 968, also the 928. Even the 356 was not seen as a valuable up to the 70ies. In fact the 911 is really overrated. Very obviously it is to see at the 1976 Porsche 912 (this 1976 only and USA only "energy crisis bargain"-version with the 2.0 4-cyl-engine of the VW-Porsche 914), my brother-in-law has bought last December in California. If you have a closer look to the interior, at least to the whole car, you cannot see any high-end parts, nothing, which justifies the classification as a high-priced premium car. It's not better than a Golf I, a VW 1600 [Typ31] or an Audi 80. Often the parts are identical, with the same part-number. You can keep pace with it in a VW 412, a Golf I LS and even with my 90hp K 70. O.k., he had bought it, because it was the cheapest way to catch the Porsche 911-ambiente.

cl82 ◊ 2011-10-30 16:18	Faster than a Sunbeam Alpine Series IV actually. If this car is from 1968/69, it still has the 2-litre-engine. Output should therefore be between 110 and 170 hp. According to wikipedia, top speeds differed between 205 kph (911 T) and 225 kph (911 S). In between the entry and the high end model in these early years were the 130 hp 911/911 L with a top speed of 210 kph and the 140 hp 911 E with a top speed of 215 kph. As I said, these figures are from wikipedia- and I find them a bit optimistic. Then again, it was quite a low-slung, lightweight car.
dsl ◊ 2012-10-04 03:29	More than one yellow Targa - look for disappearing radio aerial and wing mirror - possibly 3 used (no wing mirror, black wing mirror, yellow wing mirror which might be the one which gets crashed most). Edit - down to 2 - "yellow wing mirror" is the filler cap which has sprung open. And both cars are 69+ Targas for fixed windows and vents in Targa hoop sides, although one has the earlier wiper position. I guess all the pimping (colour, black trim, picnic table on the back) was deliberately applied to camouflage visible differences in colour and trim. -- Last edit: 2012-10-05 04:19:18

So there's a plenty of hysteria included in the pricing of a Porsche... if i had unlimited funds for a Porsche I'd go for a 959 or a 97 911 GT1 Evo , with realistic funds i'd go for 944 Turbo or 968 , they are also more "practical" than the 911 a thing about this old 911 , they are really really SMALL , when I finally saw some in real life I was shocked how small they actually are, barelly bigger than Renault Twingo or Corsa A-B !!! -- Last edit: 2012-10-04 22:00:11
jettalover ◊ 2012-10-05 04:03	In the crash it ended on its left side. Did they plan the stunt that way specifically? Or perhaps they thought it would roll over and when it didn't just went along with what happened? Any ideas?
