It may be in the background, but since they brought this car in to film this home movie segment of Clark's childhood (it's not some random footage, you can the see the actors who play his relatives in it) I don't see why it's too background. "Home movie" means those videos that parents make of their families. Before video it was reels of film, like in this case. Home movie is more of an American term, but I couldn't really say home video because here it's not a video. |

That "home movie" segment was definitely shot for the movie. It's not readily apparent from that picture, but that's the house from the "Bewitched" tv series. In fact, this movie was shot on the same studio lot, the Warner Brothers Ranch. The Griswold house is actually two doors down from the Bewitched house, and the house the yuppies next door lived in is between the two. It was originally used for the "Gidget" tv series, and I'm sure countless other shows. |
