How can you see it's a classic (sedan)? |

From what is seen through rear windows, it looks more like a sedan. |

Did you know why the French do not use 'Sedan' for sedans? It's a village where the French have lost a battle... |

When it's a joke, don't forget the smiley...Thanks! But if it isn't a joke, you have to know that Sedan is a town and not a village. Second, we call "berline" the "sedan" 'cause of the treasure our language. I don't think that a lost battle could influence anything at all. There's a cloth named "Vichy", and this name is worse than a lost battle.. ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-06-14 08:18:38 |

It was something I heard, I do not rembember where or when. ![]() Maybe it's an urban legend... -- Last edit: 2006-06-14 08:37:34 |

Anyway, Berlin (city name from which "berline" comes, according to ATILF dictionnary) does not give much better memories for most of people, I think (cold war, west/east Germany, etc.), though all these events are more recent than the vehicle body name (which was used since XVII century). -- Last edit: 2006-06-14 09:55:15 |

Why they didn't just call it Chamade, like the 19 berline. |
