The vehicle is a 1950 Studebaker Land Cruiser (part of the Commander series). The car has a longer wheelbase than the standard sedan -- this can especially be noticed in the addition of a vent wing window on the rear doors. The front clip on the 1950 Commander model is longer, and the "bullet nose" is more pronounced. The 1951 Commander model uses the shorter front clip from the Champion series. Also, the 1950 Commander uses a unique winged rocket hood ornament (visible in the photo) which is not used on any other model, or any other year. |
