It is the second generation [B2] (1980-88).

It was called the Quantum in North America (it didn't become the Passat until the B3 generation).

It seems simply called "Wagon"...
By the way, I found on wikipedia.de that in Mexico it was called Volkswagen Corsar, in Argentina it was Volkswagen Carat, and in Brazil it was Ford Versailles (sedan) / Ford Royale (wagon) !

Volkswagen of Germany has the habit of baptizing the family versions with the suffix " Variant ", as well as Opel calls the wagon of " Caravan "...
