Huge product placement here, the name of the car is prominently shown on the interior GPS screen. |

Yes, it looks like Hyundai has replaced Ford. "24: Redemption" had a few Hyundais too. The Genesis is also placed in the TNT series "Leverage." -- Last edit: 2009-02-21 05:10:40 |

Hyundai sure is pumping a lot of publicity into this model. I don't see what the big deal is though. It's rather ugly and too small for a full-szie luxury sedan. |

Yeah, but it's funny how many more Fords have been used so far. I guess it's for the realism, as you don't see too many FBI agents using Hyundais. -- Last edit: 2009-02-21 19:54:53 |

Ok, nice enough car and Hyundai have come a long way, but I found this product placement waay too intrusive and blatant. As a big 24 fan, it was beyond distracting to have to watch the shameless panning and zoom in, zoom out effects that were patently trying to showcase the car here. It's ok to have some 'placement' but this was almost crossing the line into becoming a Genesis commercial, what with the push-button start, GPS screen, iDrive style controls all being demonstrated and given precious minutes of screen time which would otherwise be much better - and more relevantly - utilised elsewhere... aarrgh! Looks like they did a number on me - I can actually remember all that sh*t they showed! -- Last edit: 2009-09-12 03:19:48 |

This season's use of the Genesis was product placement gone awry. Sure, it was a nice car, but it's not very believable that a wealthy young stockbroker would drive this thing. It's even less believable that the White House chief of staff would drive one to work (they have secret service details and ride in White House motor pool sedans). But in several scenes this season, this car was a prominent set piece anyway. |
