I'd say a Talbot-Lago , either a Special 1939 or Record 1947? |

By the shape of the bumper it will rather be a post-war model. Short bonnet and low placed headlamps make it IMHO a 1950 Lago-Baby (15CV); a very expensive car, it cost about 1,600,700 francs, whereas a Citroën 15CV cost 754,800 francs |

I think 15CV was part of the name , wasn't it? Unfortunately, that's why there isn't any more Talbot ... rich people prefered much modern (and reliable) US , british , or german cars of this era |

Lago-Baby was 15CV, Lago-Record was 26CV, I'm not sure but I think there was no need to name the CV number, though I don't mind if it is joined to the name. Indeed, the price made it almost impossible to survive, but also it's true that most of these upmarket cars in France were rather old-fashioned... Only modern item in this range was the DOHC engine of the Salmson (but that engine was introduced in 1921...) and Hotchkiss tried a big leap forward by cooperating with Grégoire, bt that was a bit too much for the conservative rich |
