taxiguy wrote Rare car for US

I don't think its all THAT rare, something like a Daihatsu Charade, a Toyota Starlet, or a Suzuki Swift Sedan would be much rarer in the US...

I don't have the sales numbers for the Daewoo but the Daihatsu Charade was sold in the US for one year longer than the Lanos and the Swift sedan was sold for 2 years longer than the Lanos so I would say the Lanos was a pretty rare car here as well

Then pick these rarites up now ( Link to "suchen.mobile.de" ) and hide them some years until they become a valuable collectible :p :D

um no I will pass on that they may be rare but rare does not mean valuable. Look at the Daihatsu Rocky, only sold here for 3 years and in very small numbers but they can be purchased very cheaply (I owned 2 of them and sold them both for around $2500 each)

The comment includes irony ;) My brother-in-law had a junky Rocky, when he has built his house. Very robust and unpretending (he drove it with rape- and sunflower-oil) and as most important point for him then, with a towing capacity of 2.3 tons. He sold it later on for a good price. Japanese Offroaders are never cheap over here, not even exhausted clunkers, caused by the intensive export to Africa.

It is Lanos T100. Clearly visible door from T100. Upholstery from version 2000

Esperos are even rarer in Germany and already collectibles. :)

Not automatically every rare item becomes a collectible. The Espero, at least any Daewoo, is definetely NOT a collectible, not even a little bit.

The only reason to possibly consider a used Daewoo is that some engine parts are GM, and could possibly bought at a GM dealership. Or junkyards.

Old Daewoos/Korean Chevrolets are popular for some specific people: extreme thrifty motorbike- or classic car-freaks, who are looking for a cheap clunker for the wintertimes. The cars have to be roadworthy just until the next March and then they will be junked.
Because Daewoos belong to this class of cars: extreme cheap clunkers.

Maybe he meant just "2000 or later"
From a quick check on Google Images, what leothelion89 says about the taillights seems right.

There's an old lady in my area who still drives one of these in a dark burgundy color.

It's as shitty-looking as you can imagine. I've seen the inside, holy shit. Lady must live in that damn thing.

The second you'd cross the Germany-Poland border i can guarantee you could find at least one in a radius of a 10 minute walk.
