Lark? |

I'd say that's a Plymouth Valiant, not a Studebaker. |

There should be a badge on the grill if this is a Valiant. www.classicsandcustoms.com/list/images/X_1962_Plymouth_Valiant_Signet_200_08132007032201_18541.jpg Looks more like a '63 Lark to me. www.studebakercarclub.net/100_3151.JPG |

The turning indicators are located on the bumper as in your Valiant pic, but it could be a different year or trim level. We should wait for you-know-who to give us a positive ID. ![]() *The hole in the grille may explain the absence of the large Valiant badge. -- Last edit: 2008-06-02 19:43:05 |

The grille gives it away as a 1962 Valiant, but it´s missing a few bars in the middle. The hole is very even so it doesn´t look like a damage, but who knows. The badge on the link above was only mounted on the Signet, they also had a black grille, so this would be a V-100 or a V-200. I don´t know if it´s possible to tell them apart from just the front? |

This is a 1962 Valiant. No question. It is probably a V-100. Not all first generation Valiants have a badge in the grill. The 1960 and the 1961 have a retangular badge in the grill that doubles as a hood release. The damage seen here does not look like the result of a badge being removed. If the 60-61 badge were removed, the hole would be a tall and narrow rectangle. Also, the trim above the grill appears wider than on the 60-61 Valiant. The Signet hardtop has a round badge set in a black grill. But the car in the picture does not have the black grill, or black surrounding the headlights. Also, I believe Signet hardtops all had bumper guards. The 1962 Valiant V-100 does not have a badge in the grill. |

Oh... and did anybody notice the Jaguar in the background? Yellow... E-type... in the middle of the road. |

Perhaps that one? /vehicle_177399-Jaguar-XK-E-1969.html the only E-Type listed for this series. |
