It's a Ford Zephyr Mk IV fitted with a V4 engine [3010E]. I'd imagine dsl knows more about the spec. It was available in either 'Saloon' or 'De Luxe Saloon'. A curiosity: It says the vehicle age is 55 years 9 months despite being of MY 1971. I too is of MY 1971, but I'm only 51... |

Plain poverty Saloon. Deluxe had a shiny dummy grille across front panel. |

So probably a real taxi unlike Ronnie Barkers (own?) Executive model in Seven of One. -- Last edit: 2022-10-11 15:39:19 |

Could well be - Z4 Mk4s were overweight slugs and not much use for anything else. |

Why "Vehicle Age: 55 years 9 months" when "Year: 1971"? Do they count the "Vehicle age" from the introduction of the model, which in this case happened at April 20th 1966? But that would be January 1967, so that doesn't make sence either. I don't understand! |

Maybe DVLA got their Fords muxed ip and confused it with a Mustang?? |

The Mustang was introduced at the World's Fair in New York in April 1964. Surely it didn't take until 1967 before it was available in the UK? |

Probably not, but it wouldn’t matter because it didn’t sell well here, I suppose I must have seen one in the last 58 years, but I don’t recall it. Probably about as popular as the incredible disappearing Ford Probe. -- Last edit: 2022-10-13 12:43:03 |
