IT'S NOT A LOTUS ELISE! IT'S A LOTUS ELAN!!! THE LOTUS ELISE WAS LAUNCEHD IN 1996! SO THERE IS NO WAY, THAT WOULD APPEAR IN A 1977 MOVIE. |

Right, but no need to cry (Writing in uppercase on internet is considered as crying) |

It's also not a 1962 Lotus Elan type 26, it's a 1969 Lotus Elan type 45. |

Are you sure it's an S4 ? the bonnet looks normal... doesn't it ? :s (without the bump on the right) I think it's an S3... I'm not sure |

This is a 1969 Lotus Elan and reason I know is its my moms. they paid her to use it for the movie. She was big in racing. |

Has sidemarkers and the slightly larger arch flares of S4 (early 1968), so 1969 looks good. But no S4 bonnet bulge as commented above which in UK/Europe was needed for the switch from S3 twin Webers to S4 twin Dell'ortos. US spec was twin Zenith Strombergs, so maybe did not need the bulge?? |

@antp from 2004: 'crier' in French does not equal 'crying', that's just shouting. But you probably know this by now. |

Is it still in your possession? |

Indeed Even if it was not so bad, my English improved since earlier IMCDb times... I'm terrified when I see some errors in my old posts |

Actually "to cry" and "to shout" are synonyms (e.g. battlecry), even though the former encompasses the "softer" side unlike the latter one. |

If I may..... Like a lot of stuff in the English language, cry and shout are nearly the same, but not quite. For instance - “Cry God for Harry, England and St George!” could not begin “Shout...” Cry indicates that the utterance comes from the heart, (or soul if you prefer it), shout tends more towards making a loud noise for the sake of it, like a mob would. Finally, I have to say that I am always impressed by the excellence of the English used by those on the site whose language from birth is different. Even the Americans 😀 Additional note... My only defence, if anyone says “What about Hue and Cry” is to say that it just proves the perversity of the English language. -- Last edit: 2019-02-26 09:40:28 |
