The car in the main shot is a 1963 Chrysler, probably a Newport. The back shot posted below is not the same car. It's the back of a Lincoln Continental. -- Last edit: 2005-12-24 17:25:16 |

Hmmm I think I mixed two pics, right. But then I have to watch again the episode to get a pic of the front of the second car, since it has some importance too. |

I created another page for the Lincoln with an extra picture: /vehicle.php?id=15663 And here is another picture of the Chrysler: |

This is a 1964 Chrysler New Yorker 4dr Sedan (yes they made New Yorkesr in both sedan and hard top). Key Feature: The small silver medallion on the c-pillar. It is rectangular with a point at the bottom. Originally, they had gold plastic inserts with three little crowns, but most were lost after 10 years or so (not many in existence today). This was on 1964 New Yorkers only. 300K's had round medallions, and other models had nothing in this spot. Canadian models had a "flying C" - a "C" with horizontal gold bars behind it. Also, indicating 1964: the rear window. Notice how little space there is between the edge of the rear wind screen (on the far side). If it were a 1963 there would be a larger space (1963 rear wind screens were smaller). Also indicating New Yorker: Continuous trim from over the front wheels right back to the rear. And if you look closely, there is a gold colored script on the lower portion of the front fender. If we could read it, it would say "New Yorker". In 1963, there were vertical fins (like gills) in this spot. -- Last edit: 2007-10-16 22:35:41 |
