Three portholes. It looks like a 1951 at the oldest. |

It could be a 1952 as well. The difference between the 51 and 52 can only be seen from behind. The 52 had tiny chrome finns on the tail lights. All Buicks except the Roadmaster had 3 portholes. By the way, the hubcaps of this model are not original -- Last edit: 2021-04-12 10:27:16 |

51 Buick Super [52] - you can tell that this one's a 1951 by the trim (1952 was different, not covering the rear fender). Riviera (six-light sedan) was not available to the Special, Special DeLuxe or Custom Special lines, so 3 portholes indeed makes it a Super. Another way to tell 1951 from 1952 is by counting the grille bars (25 for 1951, 19 for 1952), but it's difficult to tell with this image. -- Last edit: 2021-04-12 11:05:47 |

You've covered all the bases, Lateef! |

... and I can add a fourth way - the bumper guards are bigger on the 1952, making them stick out at the base of the bumper and reaching the same height as the parking lights - for some reason this difference is not depicted in the brochure except on the Roadmaster. |
