This was designed as a counterpart to what became the Saturn S-series (the original Saturn design became the last-generation Isuzu Gemini, which somehow also lent a lot to the Subaru Impreza). I still wonder whether they planned to make what became the Saturn the small Oldsmobile (Achieva?), or to align Saturn with Oldsmobile...
