1942 Alkett StuG III Ausf.G (as robi says we have many of them as Daimler-Benz StuG III Ausf. G) StuG = Sturmgeschütz = Assault gun |

It actually looks like StuG III Ausf. G, but there is as difference that is irritating. The tracks of this tank or "Sturmgeschütz" are completely different form any other German WW2-tank I have seen so far. Could this be a tank of some of the German WW-2-allies, e.g. Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia or Finnland, possibly produced under licence? This presumption is not far fetched, especially if you look at /vehicle_1497485.html ,a picture of the same film, showing a tank that is certainly not a German one. -- Last edit: 2021-03-23 13:25:36 |

Hi gilbert, thank you for in-depth analysis together with the fact it is a bulgarian TV series we can conclude this might be a bulgarian StuG III Ausf. G |

OK, why not? Unfortunately the uniforms of three members of the tank crew are hardly recognizable |

To come back to the unusual tracks, the pattern indeed is totally different to german ones, and they come with rubber pads i think? There is some evidence StuG III was used by Hungary ; Romania and Bulgaria, too. -- Last edit: 2021-03-26 00:17:00 |
