"Break" is more of a french term, isn't it? Maybe rather Universal in CS? |

Officialy sold in CS as Lada 1200 Combi, it was also written on the 5th door. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Lada_1200_Combi.jpg |

Oh well. If this is confirmed, then we'll need to fix this lot. Pretty much every [2102] sighted in CS on imcdb is called "Universal". |

I have a book about history of Lada cars in czech language. Very interesting thing, that in official price list of Mototechna shop is written Lada 1200 Universal, but all these cars were sold with inscription "Lada 1200 Combi" on the rear door in CS. I remember it very well, because I was born in 1983 and till the end of 1990s these cars were frequent on czech roads. I think it is one big mystery. P.S: Only 6 examples of VAZ 21023 (Lada 1500 Combi or Universal) were officialy imported to CS in 1979 for CS ministery of interior. |

After few years with Zhiguli naming, the car started to be named Lada also in Eastern Block (minus USSR), but wasn't rebadged to Lada till 1976. So the cars badged still Zhiguli used to be described as Lada for some time. Perhaps in this interim period are origins of the name "Lada 1200 Universal". Or CS importer/seller didn't care about the badge and named it on its own (what would be not so unusual too). |
