JVP is a series for Commercial vehicles, Birmingham, 6/49 to 9/49. So 997 means Sept 1949. I can almost hear the timing chain rattling from here! http://www.austinworks.com/askmr.html -- Last edit: 2020-12-17 19:58:28 |

My arrival on this planet was quickly commemorated by my dad getting his first car as an elderly green A40 windowed van or Countryman, JUV 995 (Dec 52), bought for £285/0s/0d. I think I can just about remember it, but it was soon replaced by a Minx IIIa in the first of a long chain of Rootes-jewels. |

The peripatetic music teacher who taught me to play the trumpet also had one. |
