Wounded by a hand grenade in one leg and taking an enemy bullet in the other, Bleier returned to the U.S., and was told he will never walk again. However, after a lengthy, grueling rehabilitation, Bleier ultimately walks again. Soon, he trains with his old team for inspiration and team manager Art Rooney's sympathy and regard for Bleier pays off when Bleier, against all odds, makes a full comeback, ultimately playing for a Super Bowl Championship with the Steelers! Starring Robert Urich as Rocky Bleier, co-starring Bonnie Bedelia, Richard Herd, Howard Cosell (as himself), and Art Carney! Airdate: December 7th, 1980 |
