Inset pic too small, but it's a 1974-76,it started out as a Series 75,but they stretched it a bit more?? (It's had a LOT of bodywork, too!! I'd say it was done at a bodyshop...not a nice coachbuilt job at all?) |

As soon as Cadillac decided to downsize its cars (first in 1977, then more radically in 1985), some customizers decided to bring back the "coachbuilt", extra-spacious "Cadillac" limousine. They cut bodies in half and "stitched" in an extra 20, 30, 40, 50 inches. The better known "stretchers" are Hess & Eisenhardt of Cincinnati, OH, Moloney Coachbuilders of Chicago, IL, LimousineWerks of Schaumburg, IL, Dillinger Gaines Coachworks of Lindenhurst, NY, DaBryan Coach Builders (in the mid-west), Executive Coach Builders of Springfield, MO, Empire Coach of New York, NY, National Coach Engineering of Port Sanilac, MI, Krystal Koac of Anaheim, CA, Custom Coach Builders of Virginia Beach, VI, Flaherty Coach of Bristol, WI, Allen Coach Works of Brooklyn, NY, Royal Limousine Manfacturers of Haverhill, MA, Armbruster/Stageway Inc. of Springfield, MO, AHA Manufacturing Ltd. of Hawthorne, CA, Kelly Coachworks of Topanga Canyon, CA, Acroft Coachworks, Inc. of Conshohocken, PA, Bradford Coachworks of Boca Raton, FL, Southampton Coachworks Ltd. of Farmingdale, NY, New York Custom Coach of Hillis, NY, Earnhart Coachworks of Fort Smith, AR. Many of these were small shops that have now gone out of business. Today, these "stretched" limousines are used mainly as hotel and airport limousines. |

Now, you're talking about my territory, mrcadillac. Besides Lindenhurst & Farmningdale, there's also a Cadillac stretching company out in Hicksville. I remember reading an article about in in Newsday during the mid-1990's. Oh, I don't know of any "Hillis, New York," but there is a "Hollis" in Queens, New York. -- Last edit: 2007-12-24 17:33:54 |

Fleetwood 75 Stretched Limousine. This being a rare case when the standard Fleetwood 75 model has been stretched by an outside coachbuilder. -- Last edit: 2012-06-23 21:40:40 |
