Probably a kit car, the original AC Cobra's are way to valuable. comments? |

Problem with these is that many of the kits are so good that it is difficult to distinguish them from the original. Could I suggest that this, since it appeared in a doccie, *could* be the real thing, but i someone could watch it again the narrative should clarify this? |

the narrative doesn't discuss the car. the segment is about a car event in West Virginia and how drivers can use the race track for their own cars. |

Maybe the only sure-fire way o telling whether it's original would be to email Carrol Shelby himself ![]() |

I doubt that its a kit car but agree that its probably a replica. By the way, these are 'shelby american cobra' and not AC cobra. Agree that one cannot usually distinguish a cobra replica from a real car by looking at a picture. Don't know what to do in this case. probably easiest to just call them all cobras and leave a question in the comments unless there is some way to be sure in a particular case. |

This is a Factory Five (Wareham, MA USA) Spec Racer. The kit is offered in a spec racer version, that is eligible to compete in several regional events across the US. "Factory Five Racing" is clearly visible just aft of the front wheel well opening. |
