The burning car is not a Volga, it's an Opel Admiral A. |

You're right, it's definitely not a Volga burning. What sad irony does it amount to that they found it more appropriate to burn an Admiral than a Volga... |

So my idea, too. In 1989 the Volga was a rare Eastern car, the Admiral just an old junk-car. Half a year later after this movie was made, it was totally different. When the Wall felt down, the Volga becames within shortest time a crappy monster, which was thrown on the scrapyard, just after the GDR-people got the D-Mark and could buy Western cars. After the 1st of July 1990 all West German car-dealers were sold out, totally empty. Rolling wrecks, which should have been crushed, were sold for some thousands of D-Marks to the GDR. After a short time, especially when the TÜV-test was established as a duty in the East, they had a bad wake up. -- Last edit: 2007-12-04 17:33:27 |

And no doubt lots of East Germans scrapped perfectly sound "Eastern" cars and replaced them with Opels, Volkswagens, BMWs, etc. that had failed the TÜV test... |

Yes, everything from the West was great for them. |

Rear separate retroreflective lights cancelled (late 1978) just, tail wall for square plate still (until 1981). Black interior mirror since 1980. -- Last edit: 2013-05-30 20:38:10 |
