So a natural tendency for satellite arms to follow US themes - see also Ford Corsair and 17M against 1961 T-bird, Transit vs. Econoline, etc. Plus Ford US big cheeses often went to Ford satellites for 2-3 years placement, bringing ideas with them which they left on the desk when they went back. So family resemblances flourished across from US and also between satellites - see also GM, and particularly similarities between Vauxhall, Opel, Holden ranges. And at a less specific level - a lot of European 50s and 60s styling blatantly recycled many US shapes because they were glamorous, often cutting across brand families - so the Minx (Audax) has a strong influence from mid-50s Rambler, compare the original Saab against a 1948-ish Packard, and so on.
