It is a Dodge WC6 [T207] (1941) or WC15 [T211] (1941) or WC23 [T215] (1941-42). They looked identical and differed in engine specifications only. This is the ½ ton Command Car without winch. The grille is non standard, as the original grille had vertical bars. -- Last edit: 2005-12-02 23:25:13 |

Is is a good idea to use chassis number for the Dodge WC? Same problem than for other makes: if only few models have such number it is maybe better to not use the field... |

I added the numbers to all WC models, therefore I guess it is okay. The 'Tnnn' is the Dodge numbering, whilst 'WCnn' is the military number code. WC stands for Weapons Carrier. Did you think about adding a flag field to the chassis field as I suggested a while ago? With that field you could choose whether the chassis field should be used for sorting or not. |

I still plan to add it, yes. For the Dodge it is not a problem actually, since with a model name starting by a "W" they were already listed at the end  |

WC does not mean "weapons carrier". WC was Dodge's sales symbol. The Tnnn was the engineering symbol. 1/2-ton command cars: T-207 = WC-6/WC-7/WC-8 T-211 = WC15/WC-16 T-215 = WC-23/WC-24/WC-25 |
