 Simple, Russia is a leading country in petroleum industry (at least by 2016 stats) :) that being said, petrol in the USA is still cheaper right now (I think)

 I paid $2.69 per gallon USD to fill up my truck yesterday. I have no idea what that translates to in Russian money. :lol:

 As of May 6, 2019, it costs 45.2 rubles (or 0.69 USD; so, per gallon=2.61USD) of petrol per liter to fill up in Russia. Of course, prices vary in different regions, but it's more or less the same apparently :)

Well, the country with the cheapest fuel is Venezuela.
The liter for around 10 Cent.

But I don't envy the Venezuleans. Cheap fuel is not the most important thing.

 Fine, but I filled my car a few minutes ago, £1.329 per litre, or approximately 113 roubles. Most of it being taxes, where did we go wrong? Any attempt to tax fuel at the level that we in UK have to accept would result in further problems in Venezuela.

That’s $6.54 per US Gallon in the colonies.

BTW, my car is diesel, which is dearer here than petrol, but you use less.
