Early S3 without later trinkets (spoiler, fogs, headlight wipers). Daimler grille, but the wing badge was a Jag item not fitted to Daimler. US-spec Jaguar Sovereign would be a good punt, except RHD wipers here and the other linked sighting shows RHD wheel. So maybe a Thai-spec Jag Sovereign?? |

Were they actually sold as Jaguar Daimler Sovereign?? If so it's a permutation I've not seen before. The silver one has all the normal Daimler badging and trim, plus the Jaguar wing badge seen on our car. Noted also that the linked page has a "1988 Jaguar Daimler (79-93) Double Six", but that's a 1974-79 Series II. Again completely Daimler, apart from horrific wheels and the Jaguar wing badge. So maybe - if the ads are accurate, which in one case is wobbly - Thailand branding was unique?? And maybe we should enter as Jaguar [make] Daimler Sovereign [model] to avoid an unnecessary new make which could easily get lost. More local info needed if available to solve this. |

[1] Daimler Sovereign 4.2, RHD - seems normal apart from having the wing badge - Daimler grille, rear badges, steering wheel logo etc 2] Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Vanden Plas, RHD - rare top version, has been tweaked (rear badges in wrong place, altered front wings with side indicators, plus chrome, wheels etc), no wing badge but may be normal underneath. 3] Jaguar Sovereign 4.2, RHD - normal Jag features with no Daimler bits 4] Daimler grille, LHD wipers, US-like sidemarkers (but Daimler was not used for US, so if genuine would be somewhere else LHD which had US-style lights - no obvious suggestion, but maybe CDN or Phillipines or Taiwan or ???) So [1] is another "Jaguar Daimler" with this possible Thai mix, and [2] might be as well. [3] is just a Jag and could be Thai-spec, leaving [4] as a possible grey import from outside. Maybe best to leave our entries as just Daimler Sovereign, with the wing badge being a local oddity. |
