Caribbean Turquoise, grey hood, whitewalls, body colour wheel paint - may well be 940 CLI - http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ford_consul_17.jpg My example is a (1961?) Ford Consul Deluxe. Please note the rear lights which does not go all the way down to the bumper. I have never seen a Zephyr with chrome bars on the rear stem, only Consul Deluxes. Another example of a Zephyr Convertible: Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" |

OK - agreed. Not sure if this shows it better but the rear detail as you say is correct and maybe as the shot swings round the plate might work for 940 CLI more convincingly than 834 DYV. I had spent ages scouring pictures of Consuls before moving on to Zephyrs ..... 940 CLI plate problematic, Irish plate now on a Nissan Sentra, issued 1984 County of Westmeath, so only on the Consul as a temporary re-registration. Another Caribbean Turquoise Mk2 1 seen a couple of times near beginning and then at end - might have got a page if plate [xFx 43x] had been clear enough to look for a match. 1959+ Zodiac?? |

@dsl: Yes, I believe it is. Just to clarify: The Caribbean Turquoise wasn't that uncommon as a colour at the time, which means it might have had any registration plate. And it doesn't even have to have been preserved, most cars were crushed after a few years. |
