According to a commenter at http://www.classicrefusetrucks.com/film.aj.html this is an Autocar ACL with a Leach 2R-II body. "Jack from D & D Carting, NYC recalls: It was Marangi Carting from Queens, NY....Autocar ACL with a 31 yard Leach 2R-II" -- Last edit: 2011-02-22 19:36:27 |

This scene was based on the murders of Burke and Hill's associates; Joseph "Joe Buddha" Manri and Robert McMahon who were shot on the night of the 15th May 1979. Manri worked at the JFK Warehouse as a night shift cargo supervisor for Air France and had provided the inside information for the heist, while McMahon worked at the warehouse as a night shift supervisor for Air France and was the original inside man involved in the Air France Robbery that Burke committed in 1967. Both Manri and McMahon had help planned the heist and were repeatedly offered witness protection for turning state's evidence but refused. Unlike this scene, their bodies were found in a parked car. -- Last edit: 2020-05-01 16:45:51 |
