To me it looks more like a 1970 AMC Javelin [7079-5] than a Hornet. |

Why does this one a chassis code but the others do not? |

Same question. Where did they even get the chassis code from? |

You can find the code on the door jamb on a plate. From the ones I looked at for 1970. The "70" is for the year. Not sure about the "-5", the ones I looked at were "-7". I sure it can be looked up in one of the Standard Catalogs: EDIT - Just looked it up, it's the trim level. The base Javelin was 5, the SST was 7 Javelin base - 7079-5 Javelin SST - 7079-7 Javelin AMX - 7039-7 As seen here: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/listing/1970-amc-javelin-2792045 https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1970-amc-javelin-lost-river-wv-457474 AMX: https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1970-amc-amx-big-canoe-ga-966181 https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1970-amc-amx-buffalo-ny-961725 -- Last edit: 2024-07-21 07:10:11 |
