Strange cabin shape. UK A55 pick-up had more vertical B-pillars
[Image: a55pickupuk.jpg]

but Aus Coupe Utility seems a rounder pillar shape without the window wrapround seen above - 1957 A50 (see also here)

... and A55

Quote "The A55 Cambridge saloon was assembled by BMC Australia and a coupe utility version was designed and assembled by the Sydney-based Pressed Metal Corporation, a subsidiary of Larke, Neave and Carter, Austin Distributors." from here. So the Ute was a conversion rather than BMC product, and maybe other firms offered their own designs??

Found a picture online with cabin and wrapround window like main

- captioned as 1958 Austin A55 8cwt Utility (AF3) from an old Gumtree post which has disappeared. Seems A40 (Devon) Utility was AF1, A50 Utility AF2 and there was a Morris 6cwt version of AF3 with M53 code. May be possible that first AF3 from Pressed Metal Corporation had the rounder pillar shape without the window wrapround carried over from A50 [AF2], with a revamp for 1958 giving the wrapround.
