For me it is odd to see Ed from 'Bugs' as a Doctor in 1950s Australia :D

Why no interest in Doctor Blake's 1934 Standard 16?

I was going to leave it to the end of the series before making the page or until I get a really good view. Same case for a few other vehicles seen.

Series 1 completed (there will be a Series 2, not sure if/when this will air in the UK)

@Sandie - why did you stop at season 1? They are already airing season 3 here in Australia.

Sandie SX

2015-03-12 15:50

I have Season 2 ready to upload, just haven't posted it yet. Season 3 won't be on here until late this year, I expect.

I'll start now, but I'm working on a very slow computer.

@Sandie - pretty sure that season 3 is showing in the UK now?? Season 4 is only a few months away here in Australia.

I can't even find if the BBC are going to show the new season. Last two seasons aired in late November (from 25th and 24th respectively). I'll keep an eye out.

@Sandie - I could always add this if you want me to. However, why do you need to wait for it to air in the UK? Can't you download the episodes?

EDIT: On second thoughts, I don't really have the time or interest at the moment do to this either. I'll leave it in your hands. :)

You can go ahead with it. I have to be conscious that there are so many other things I want to add/work on.

I could download them but it was just so easy to wait for them to come here and be available to stream in HD on the TV company website.

"Background truck" is an Austin K series which may not have original wheels.

The BBC seems to be showing the present series in a different order from that which the producers intended. There are some plot anomalies consequent upon this.

They started by showing Series 3 then went back to re-running Series 2 from last year without really explaining that so it is very confusing.

Thank you. I thought that I was losing the plot, now I know that to be true!

....

Like you johnfromstaffs, I thought they looked strange (perhaps too large in the apertures) but the top area in the shadow looks right. I think perhaps the back-lit lower parts of the wheels has made the light 'spill-over' giving a false appearance.

I looked up postcode in the title sequence in the bottom right corner, it says Ballarat's postcode is 3351 but in reality, it's 3350 but 3351 is the postcode of several towns near Ballarat.

there was a 1938 Dodge fire engine used in the episode For whom the bell tolls, that's not on this page.

This is nice to be able to look up the vehicles and planes from one of my favorite shows. Thank you to everyone for the added comments as you make it extra interesting! A lot of fans talk about the show and all the vehicles with some residents from Ballarat showing their own, being used during filming. I love period dramas and all the details. I've actually already steered a few fans to this site as I learned about it last week as we were having a discussion on the police cars. There are lots of great photos and interesting discussions taking place about this show. I'm in the USA and it's wonderful to see the global interest. I learned about this show and viewed it through Netflix. Let's hope we have many more series/seasons of Doctor Blake. We're certainly trying to find it a new home through Save The Doctor Blake Mysteries on Facebook. Anyone who would like to view some of the local contributions of photos and back stories, there are a lot on the site. Also on The Doctor Blake Mysteries Fan Club on Facebook.

There is a car in series 2 episode 6 at 5:20 outside the hospital just after the FE Holden pulled out. I can’t find it on the list.
Does anybody know what it is?

Both of my recent queries are the same car. It’s in 2.06 at 5:20 and 2.07 at 1:15 and in later episodes. It’s a 1954 Chrysler Windsor deluxe four door sedan. Thanks to big Dave and Sandie.

For the admins: I would like to provide some background to the model identification for early Holdens. The 48 series was released in 1948 as a sedan only. The GM designation for a sedan was 215, hence 48/215. In 1951, the coupe utility was released designated 50/2106, 2106 being the designation for a utility. It must have been released late. The first Holden was just known as a Holden, there being no other models. When the FJ was released in 1953, They added several different versions. The 215, a basic model, the 225 which was a Special, the 217, which was a Taxi equiped sedan, the 2106 , the Ute, and the 2104 which was a Panel Van. There was no designation FJ 53-2106 etc. It should be just FJ-2106 or FJ- 2104 etc. When the FJ was released, the original Holden, became known as the FX to distinguish between models. It would be very difficult to determine the different models of the sedan in a movie. The FJ Special had chrome strips around the windscreen and doors if one was close enough to see
