Possible grey import? |

By the bumpers and the black trims except chrome trims, it's indeed a grey import, because in the mid-90ies there was no official export any more from Mexico at all. With this colour it's no 2003 Última Edición (which was not officially exported either) |

So, at least a 1977 for the turn signals in bumper. Seems to have lost the flow-throughs, a 1996 or newer Mexican Beetle? -- Last edit: 2017-03-05 21:54:53 |

Every detail incl. the colour, but except the chrome hubcaps is typical for a (late?) 1990ies Mexican Beetle. was there any official export in that years (actually after 1985, after the export to Europe stopped) to anywhere? -- Last edit: 2017-03-05 22:17:33 |

(C) Wikipedia: 'Independent importers continued to supply several major countries, including Germany, France, and the UK until the end of production in 2003. Devoted fans of the car even discovered a way to circumvent US safety regulations by placing more recently manufactured Mexican Beetles on the floorpans of earlier, US-registered cars.' |

Either that or antique import that are exempted if the car is 25 years or older I have seen Mexican Volkswagen Sedán at the road at my neighbourhood area sometimes -- Last edit: 2017-03-06 14:18:53 |
