I know this is a Metrocab, but what should it be listed as? |

It was designed and introduced by MCW (Metro-Cammell-Weymann) in 1987, sold to Reliant in 1989, and later (no date available) to Hooper. In 1997 the Series 2 arrived (too late for this film). So we have: - MCW Metrocab (1987-89) - Reliant Metrocab (1989-early 90s) - Hooper Metrocab (since) |

I just noticed the third brake light. Since when is this legal in the UK? |

I'd say Hooper Metrocab. Third brake lights have been around a long time but were only made a legal requirement in the last few years. The film is 1995. |

CHMSL doesn't necessarily mean much and can be found on older Metrocabs (travelling a lot in stop start traffic makes them useful for taxis): https://www.flickr.com/photos/47381765@N04/6312972997/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/34951233@N08/6926312625/ Door handles also looked chromed, so this is probably an early MCW one. -- Last edit: 2016-10-08 02:11:09 |
