Upgraded to HD using two sources: one grainy and sharp, one with grain removed and less sharp with some ugly blue hue in night scenes (I guess that's what they call "remaster" these days). I used the latter for cars near the bottom or the left side of the frame as the "grainy" version is framed differently, favoring dead space on top of the frame and so loses a lot of the bottom and also some of the left side of the frame. With that out of the way, this movie has one of my favorite goofs of all time: ![]() Boo! There are actually three goofs in this one shot: in addition to the ghostly camera there's also an obvious crew member lit up to the left of Kirk Douglas' head, and when good ol' Kirk enters the lift there are several other people in it who promptly disappear when the camera cuts to this shot. |
