The vehicle is definitely not a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda -- the body style is 1967-69. I believe it is a 1969 -- it is difficult to tell since it has been heavily customized. I have heard that the customization was done by George Barris (of Batmobile fame). I will attempt to confirm this. |

What does this car look like? George Barris customized a 1966 Barracuda For a Movie with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, The Car was white on the frontend and towards the rear the color turned Candy Apple Red. The Car had a heavily modified grill and nose piece, and low profile windshields. The Car was called the Fireball 500, is this the same car youre talking about?? link -- Last edit: 2006-06-18 04:44:32 |

Wow!! I saw that car in El Cajon, CA back in the early to mid 80's at a place called Fantasy Cars. I wondered what happened to it. They also had The Car, from the movie, The Car. I almost purchased the zebra painted 4x4 for 5k, if I remember it was an International Scout. |

Two built by Barris, one survives - the other destroyed throughout the movie and in the race at the end. |

@mannix_72 - Can't you group the similar cars together rather than make separate entries for each one? For example, do we really need 4 separate entries for 1955 Chevy One-Fifty? |

My computer, for some reason which I haven't yet figure out, will not allow me to add pictures to the comments section. Probably due to an update, or something. I'm not very computer savy. Any admin, or whom ever is welcome to group similar cars however they deem appropriate. I simply didn't want to leave any cars out of the movie's page. |
