It's the Polish word for bicycle.

Yes, the similarity of this word to the British Rover is not accidental. Simply in the XIX century the bicycles made by the Rover were so common among the Polish people, that they started to call every bicycle "rower". Original word for bicycle in Polish is more obvious - "bicykl", however it is rarely used. Rower became the "legal" term loooong time ago.

There is the English term "rower" with "w", too: Link to "cgi.ebay.de"
I'm seeing this word everytime, when I'm trying to loose weight.

Not better to try a bicycle? ;)

I do both there, 40 min bicycle, 20 min rowing and then 25 min bicycle again. With holding enough struggle, I'll "make" 1000 calories this way. ;)
