“Private security must pay better than I thought.” If you've ever wanted to see Luke Perry as an award-winning geneticist, wondered what James Bond might have looked like if Roger Moore kept playing him into his 70s, or what a respected actor looks like when he spends his every scene wondering where he is, what he's doing there, how he got there, and how to most gruesomely murder his agent and get away with it, you have my condolences because you have to see this movie to get the answers (but hey, it could've been three terrible movies...). It's the kind of a movie where the more villain yells at his henchmen he wants the hero caught alive, the more then henchmen shoot indiscriminately at the hero. Suffice it to say this movie left me immensely curious about the opus of Edward D. Wood, Jr. It's worse than this? They blew all the budget on blowing up cars instead of on hiring people who have at least seen if not operated a movie camera before. Filmed almost entirely in Luxembourg and set in plethora of places, starting somewhere on a Russian border, then going to Quebec (Montreal and thereabouts, mostly), Luxembourg, Vermont, Chicago, and back to Montreal. This is supposed to be a map of something in Montreal: Here are an interesting oldtimer in first thumb, and a European-looking fire truck in the second (which is supposed to be in Quebec): -- Last edit: 2024-04-06 17:56:35 |

I think that a few scenes were really filmed in Montreal: /vehicle_1883338.html /vehicle_1883322.html /vehicle_1883339.html Perhaps the script was written with the expectation of a Canada-Luxembourg co-production (enjoying tax incentives in both countries) with half filmed in Quebec and half in Luxembourg. -- Last edit: 2024-04-06 16:10:03 |

^ While the credits only mention Luxembourg as a filming location and thank the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the people and some businesses thereof with no mention of Canada anywhere, the credits do actually list a Montreal Unit (with a director of photography etc.), so it looks like some scenes were indeed filmed there. P.S.: I set the movie's country of origin to UK. While the credits state the movie is a UK-Luxembourg co-production, UK is listed as the country of first publication and the movie is also copyrighted there. |
