you don't have to change the width and changing (Why?) the length to a strange 502 x 498

as the pictures you have uploaded.
If length is more than 720 x... leave clicked the square option and write in the rectangle on left 720 leaving blank the rectangle on the right
If width is more than .....x 498 leave clicked the square option and write in the rectangle on right 498 leaving blank the rectangle on the left

If both sizes (length and width) are less than 720 or 498, leave the picture as it is and leave both rectangles in blank. Don't enlarge original size of the captures.

 you mix width and height :D
should be:
If width is more than 720...
If height is more than 498...
(it is width x height, "length" is not used in this context)

 Sorry, I'm new here. Also noted, that the source used was squeezed, ie the vhs tape's picture was vertically squashed.

 not really a car chase movie, there is one near beginning and a rampage with a Michigan loader at the end

the movie is a italian low budget B-movie PG version of Rambo First Blood
