Yes, a Safari based on the lower level Catalina. 1975, I believe. |

It's a '76. |

Woodgrain sides would make this a Grand Safari 1976 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon Pictures courtesy owner Greg Chirozzi |

Yeah, but 1976's have square headlights. |

Square headlights for the upper level trim. 76 Catalinas had round headlights unless the "Custom" option was ordered. |

Cool, thanks Mike...I'm Joe Interesting thing about the big picture above is that it seems to have wood trim AND the Catalina front end so, is it a Safari or a Grand Safari?!?! -- Last edit: 2007-03-16 04:14:57 |

Joe: Im gonna stick my neck out here and "assume" its a Grand Safari. The woodgrain option is normally reserved for the top of the line models. |

With the round headlights, this is a Safari, not a Grand Safari. The Safari had Catalina trim. Rectangular headlights were standard on the Grand Safari along with the Bonneville/Grandville grill and trim. Woodgrain trim was an option on both the Safari and Grand Safari models. |

1976 Catalina Safari |

1976 Catalina Grille. Only Catalina's could be had with round headlights in '76 so it is a '76 Catalina Safari. |
