1950 PV 833/834, body probably by local Norwegian coachbuilder

I agree now, but for a while I wasn't sure if it was built on a chassis for a car (PV = Personvagn = a difficult Swedish way to say it's a car) or a HGV/Truck (LV = Lastvagn = the same but for a Truck).

The L 340 Truck was different as it had VOLVO written in a chrome moulding on the hood/bonnet instead of on the front stem as for the PV. Also it usually had four chrome strips rather than three for the PV.

Please compare:
PV 831 until 834 http://www.swedishbrasscar.com/dokument/volvo19.html .
L 340 http://www.swedishbrasscar.com/dokument/volvo27.html .

The differences between the latter numbers in the 830-series:
- The 831 was the usual body used for taxis.
- The 832 used the same body as the 831, but with a window between the front and the rear seats.
- The 833 was a chassis, but with a short distance between the front and rear wheels.
- The 834 was a chassis, but with a long distance between the front and rear wheels.

But as it doesn't have "teeth" in the grille Link to "en.wikipedia.org" , I believe it's been made after the autumn of 1952, that is 1953+.
