Dodge M43, based on the postwar M37 series. |

This. M-43 is slab-sided and the WC 54 has a ridge. -- Last edit: 2016-04-05 02:54:27 |

The M43 has a very different look than the WC54. Different windshield angle (90 degree vs tilted), different engine hood (single rear hinge vs two piece butterfly), Hood latches (two exposed latches vs 4 more concealed), concealed radiator cap vs exposed, different engine side panels (solid vs vents), different doors (straight w/o window frame vs curved w/ window frame), different wheels (standard vs combat), different ambulance body (slab side vs the ridge)... Most original literature on the Dodge series is without any dash or spaces except the V-41 and I think one/two others? Dodge M43 |

IMCDb uses the dash and spaces so the various models are easier to find. |

It is remains from the beginning of the site, sometimes a little unfortunate. We could change some, but better wait for the migration of the data to the next version of the site to make such big changes. |

Regardless of how the site uses the dash or space the correct nomenclature is M43. For me, the important part is the proper identification without being distracted by the dash or space. This M43 was incorrectly identified as WC54 and the "comments" were about spaces and the dash rather than the correct model vehicle. Keep it fun. |
