WJM 816T, a Plaxton Supreme IV Express-bodied Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R delivered new to Alder Valley as their 502 (though intended as 96) in October 1979 and seen here at London's Victoria Coach Station on the 'Londonlink' Motorway Express X7 service to Aldershot. The Londonlink branding first appeared in October 1980 when the A30 express service from Farnham and Aldershot was re-routed to utilise the M3 motorway and re-numbered as X7 and X8. These coaches replaced dual-purpose Leyland Nationals on the service, though would in turn be replaced by a batch of coach-seated, ECW-bodied Leyland Olympians in June 1983. This coach was acquired by Golden Boy Coaches of Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, for further service, and later passed to Lea Valley. -- Last edit: 2015-10-20 16:53:44 |
