It could also be Dodge or Plymouth, but which one? |

I'm pretty sure it is a Dodge. |

There's really no way to tell without seeing the very small "Made for" badges on the tailgate or reading the VIN, which isn't happening. Usually we default to Dodge, since it was closer to the Colt name. Sales for both brands was pretty even, with Dodge having the slight advantage. This generation of this model was not sold in North America as a Mitsubishi -- Last edit: 2015-09-15 23:26:02 |

Why did some have sealed-beam headlamps and redesigned grille, and others from the same era had the pre-1985 style? |

Just looked up a bunch of Colt Vista brochures and the flush headlights did not arrive until 1988. The 1986-87 models still had the sealed-beams. This one has the 1988-89 grill. For 1990-91, the badge was centered in the grille and the horizontal bar was removed. |
