Built in Hungary rather than England, I think. |

And is it proven that wagon was assembled there too? (Yes I see that we have one listed this way). |

Only possible by the checking the VIN-number. Anything else is coffee cup reading. |

That would be necessary only if both, GB and H made, wagons were sold in Hungary, what is the least possible. |

It's very possible, resp. usual. It was never sure, that an Astra was sold in or around the country, where it was assembled. I've seen by myself truck with Silesian plates, delivering brand new Astras and Zafira to the Opel-dealer vice versa the Opel-plant in Bochum. After they finished, the drove 500 meters to the plant's storage yard, loaded other brand new Astras and Zafira and went back to Poland. And I already told you about the Astra G, a friend's father -Opel-worker in Bochum for over 30 years- has internally ordered to use the special employee-discount. When he got it delivered, he noticed, that he hadn't his hands at this car - it was made in Ellesmere Port. |

But export began together with start of real production of Opels in Poland (since summer 1998), before they were CKD assembled here only for our market needs and not exported (wagon was imported back then from GB though). Comparing the production numbers, I believe Hungarian made Astra F was made only/mostly for Hungary too. In 1996 they made there 11.200 Astras vs 42.762 Suzuki Swifts, which, as it is known, they also made for export. |
