Unclear as to exact model but clearly an Alvis. Check out the mascot.

Possibly a TA14.

Would you go for 1939-40 Speed 25 SC (as no running boards)?? I'm looking at basic book photos, and seems TA14 was basically same as final Speed 25 but wider, while I've got a match for Speed 25 SC, including vertical hood edge and square corner on rear of door window - other Alvises seem rounded corners.

Compared against the Rover in front of it, I thought it was a bit smaller than a "Speed" model, but wouldn't argue with your suggestion.

Better quality source found so pics upgraded. Nothing I can see to affect previous comments; registration still illegible, but frustratingly close ...

This is definitely NOT an Alvis Speed 25. This is an Alvis TA 14 Drophead Coupé. These bodies were made by Carbodies of Coventry and Tickford.
