Ok for me Opels are LHD for right hand drive markets except south africa, and Vauxhall are rhd , but maybe the british Opel thing was not introduced at this time ? |

no, this is wrong. There were RHD-Opel, for example in Ireland, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan. And in many countries LHD-Vauxhalls werde sold (Scandinavia, BeNeLux, Austria, Switzerland and many more). Not to forget these, which was even built there. Mid-60s Opels were not sold in UK - restarted Sept 67 with Kadett [B], Olympia [A], and Rekord [C] - a year after [C] was launched elsewhere. RHD mid-60s Opels are therefore unusual when found in places like HK, J, ZA etc - so some of us keep track of where they are found out of interest. As this [B] coupe was only made for a year, it is fairly rare anywhere and a RHD-market find is much rarer. |
