Seems both Muir-Hill and Aveling-Barford produced Fordson-based dumpers eg https://www.flickr.com/photos/kingtonian/5189947564/ and book ref Link to "books.google.co.uk" here (page 107) and they may have looked pretty well identical - perhaps this was one of those wartime contracts spread across different makers. More info needed, but I can't trace any confirmed Fordson-made dumper references. I'm happy that all big dumpers in this film and in Builders are probably the same design/maker, but unclear what to call them. This particular footage is a separate source from the others as it's not in Builders; also - is GAZEN script on the bucket here significant?? -- Last edit: 2014-08-30 16:07:50 |

@dsl: It's even a 'Site dumper', not just a 'Dumper'. For the script, it's not 'GAZEN' but rather 'GALES' - I think you are familiar with that name. |

Ageed GALES, but means nothing to me apart from this and this, and it sure ain't lemons in the bucket. Presumably you're suggesting a big wartime builders or is it a clue to make?? |
