A 1968 model would have side marker lights as shown in this example http://car-from-uk.com/ebay/carphotos/full/ebay229665.jpg I do not see them in the vehicle above |

The side markers from 1/1/68 were adapted by most manufacturers at the start of MY1968, yes. But not by all. You may find some cars that didn't have them. |

We agree to disagree. The statement is true for small volume manufacturers (i.e.-Checker); However it was required by all the major manufacturers (Ford, Chrysler, GM). I still say it is a 1967.... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 13:39:22 |

The car has clearly been customized so hard to really say. And I agree with Supcoach. I have never seen a 1968 model car from GM, Ford, Chrysler or AMC that did not have side markers. Even Checker used reflectors that looked like side markers for 1968 and 1969. |

For 1968-69 they could be either retroreflective or lit, for 1970+ retroreflective and lit |

Standards for side marker/reflective lit or non lit may be different in varying countries as well. Norway, where you live, may not have required said marker lights in 1968, whereas they were mandated here (USA) by the government. And I still say it is a 1967 model.... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 13:39:44 |

That was just a remark to the side markers in general. This car does not have them. Over here these lights/reflectors would in fact if present be painted over or removed somehow for some 30 years. Light visible from the side was a |

If you are saying this car ( I presume that you are referring to the one in the pic) DOES NOT have them-that makes it a 1967,as I have repeatedly stated..:) -- Last edit: 2014-08-26 23:47:34 |

Could you please point out to me where in the comments above I stated this car was a 1968? I merely commented upon the side marker subject, so you people who know the Fords would take that into consideration -as well as the rest of the '67-'68-'69 cars on this site. This is not a US scene anyway, is it? BTW, I should rather have said that this car in the main shot has no visible side markers, at least on my screen. OK? -- Last edit: 2014-08-27 07:07:04 |

You didn't. sthor was the one who thought it was a 1968 model. If you read the differences between a 1967 and a 1968 model=Yes the main difference is the side marker lights. Another difference is that in 67 models the inside rearview mirror is attached to the frame and on a 68 •Rear View Mirror Attached to Windshield. If you blow up the pic you can tell that said mirror is attached to the frame... -- Last edit: 2014-08-27 13:40:01 |

Frankly, I wouldn't worry too much anyway as the car has been customized. No telling what has been changed. I guess we should just leave the listing as 1967 as the first possible year. |

This is definitely a 1968 model, not a 1967. The side-markers make up one of the smallest differences between those years. In this Picture you may not be able to see them, that does not mean they're not there. More important features to look for are for instance the grille and the side-trim / rear vents. The latter are clearly 1968. -- Last edit: 2014-08-28 17:37:03 |
